Gwen was born in Mississippi to Carlton and Aliene French on February 25th, 1928.
She graduated from high school and married Thomas Avent in 1947. After his death in 1958 she went back to school and became a licensed cosmetologist. In the early 1960’s, she and her three children moved to the Nashville area. Gwen later met and married Ken Kennedy in the early 1970’s.
Over the course of their 30 plus years of marriage they created a life around Church, Family, Friends and their home in Goodlettsville. Gwen enjoyed the last four years as a resident at Morningside of Gallatin and often said, “I’ve have had a good life”.
Gwen is preceded in death by Husbands Thomas W. Avent 1958 and Hubert C. (Ken) Kennedy 2004. She was also preceded in death by 5 siblings.
Gwen is survived by her Children: Tom Avent, Sherry Hunter and Ann Young. Grandchildren: Kevin, Brian, Dawn, Stacy, Scott, Jackie, Kelly and Aaron. Eight Great Grandchildren and Six Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by Brothers: Dennis and Robert and Sisters: Sharon and Sandra.
