William “Bill” A. Avants, age 77 of Rowlett, TX, passed away January 27, 2018.

He was born October 11, 1940, in Morrilton, AR, to William A. and Julia (Kay) Avants. Bill was a member of Firewheel Bible Fellowship in Rowlett. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Bill married Gaye Montgomery August 30, 1962, in North Little Rock and they shared 55 wonderful years. He retired from PPG Industries as a supervisor in 2000. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife: Gaye Avants of Rowlett, TX; sons: Brett Avants and wife Karen of St. Charles, MO, and Brad Avants and wife Tammy of Rowlett, TX; sister: Billie Jean Cluck of Fort Smith, AR; brother: Jimmy Avants of Athens, GA; and grandchildren: Renee and Krista Avants.
