Misc. Notes
Bonnie was born on September 28, 1955, in Augsburg, Germany, to James Howard and Sonja Card who preceded her in death.  She was the third out of four in a fun-loving circle of girls and she is survived by her three sisters, Sonja Colosia (Chicago, IL), Gerda Ritter (Berlin, Germany), and Melitta (Jimmy) Melman (Hurst, TX).

On February 10th, 1974, she married her best friend, William Marcus Avent, and for 49 years he was her partner and side kick through life.  They enjoyed so many different adventures along life’s journey and wherever they went, laughter, fun, and memories were always made.  In their early years, they enjoyed riding motorcycles, and going to Grenada Lake for fishing, riding, and camping.  They continued to do this throughout the years and Jeanie enjoyed every time they went to the beach or riding.  She loved their birthday trips to the Casino where he always knew she loved the crab legs, music, and walking out with a smile. They had so many friends and there was always fun whether it was at a golf course, at the Lake, or just sitting around the house chatting and enjoying the moment.  Laughter was always a key to their family dynamics and pulling pranks on each other was very common, and even when she felt bad, she was still pulling pranks on Marc.  Through her entire fight, he stayed by her side and held her hand as she took her last breath.

They became parents to three children, and she epitomized the definition of what a mother is and always devoted herself to her children.  She was selfless, dedicated, loving, and reared her children with a love like no other.  She was so proud of her kids, never complained through all their activities, fundraisers, school functions, or even bad behavior.  She had a love that was soft yet stern when needed, and her children always knew she did everything for them in love. The lessons, traditions, and love she gave them will forever be remembered and carried on for generations to come.

She is survived by her three children – Angela Avent McCuiston (Neil) of Gore Springs, Christy Avent Walker (Matt) of Gluckstadt, and Jody Avent (Kimberly) of Baldwyn.  These three were her world-her pride and joy- and she didn’t truly think her heart could hold any more love, and then she became a Nana.
To know Bonnie was to know she was a fierce, proud, loving Nana to her seven beautiful grandchildren.  These little ones made her so proud and made her smile even on the darkest days.  We just thought she excelled as a mother, but her role as Nana was simply perfect.  She was devoted to her babies and there was nothing she would not do for them.  Laughing and making memories with them was her goal in life.  She was always baking cookies, cupcakes, coloring eggs, playing with them, and doing whatever she could to make her babies smile.  She was the beloved Nana to Christen Tindall, Mary Tristen Walker, Mackenzie Holley, Mattie Reagan Walker, Lana McCuiston, Maziley Avent, and Maddox Avent.  These seven were truly her greatest little blessings and with each accomplishment they did, she smiled large and just loved telling everyone about what they were doing.  Whether it was graduating college or K4, playing in the mud, painting works of art, or tying their shoes, she was proud of it all.
To know Bonnie, was to also know she was possibly the greatest Elvis fan on Earth, and her love of Elvis could be seen throughout her home, yard, wardrobe, and even her truck.  She even had one room full of memorabilia and loved showing people her Elvis room.  She loved going to the festivals, Graceland, and travel to different locations he had ate or been too.  She loved introducing her grands to Elvis and playing music through the house or dancing with them.  She met so many people through the years at festivals and loved meeting all the Elvis imposters along the way.
Bonnie also loved going on her sister trips all over the world, walking the trails at their old home place, sitting for hours with her sisters by a fire, and soaking in the sun at their old home place.  She always loved spending hours just catching up with her sisters and friends talking about life and adventures.  We may not know what all was said, but we know Bonnie was smiling and laughing every moment she was there.  The circle of sisters and their love for each other was felt during these times.

When she joined hands with Marc in 1974, she also became a member of his family, and she loved them all as if they were her own parents and siblings.  Her beloved Mother-in Law, Hazel Avent (Clarkson) soon became one of her best friends and these two were always doing something together through the years.  Their love of roses, cooking, helping others, and making family priority was just a few of their common grounds that made them a dynamic duo for over 49 years.

Bonnie’s beloved Hazel was visiting every day, rain, or shine, and always making her smile and happy up until the very end.  Bonnie is also survived by her siblings-in-law- Terry Avent (Eupora), Tony Avent (Donna) (Eupora), and Ilene Maloney (Perry) (Indianola).  These three were truly siblings to her and she loved her times with them throughout life.  There were so many fun times and memories, she was blessed to be a part of their lives for almost 50 years watching their families grow.  Bonnie loved making sure every family function was full of good food, decorations, and fun.  Her extended family grew over the years, and she is survived by four nieces, three nephews, and a host of great-nieces and nephews.  Regardless of the distance, Bonnie always kept up with the kids and made sure she kept up with all the things going on in their lives.

To know Bonnie, was to love her.  She never met a stranger, always lent a hand, and was the most selfless person anyone could know.  Her friendships carried on for years, if she befriended you, it was for life.  Her hard work, dedication, and determination was felt in any and everything she done.  Whether it was her flower garden or her children, she toiled endlessly with love and heart to make sure they grew beautiful and strong, able to withstand whatever life gave them.  She will be greatly missed but her traditions and love will be carried on by her family and friends that were blessed to be a part of her wonderful life on Earth.

Pallbearers were; Niel McCuiston, Matt Walker, Brian Stewart, Reagan Gary, Marion Card and Joe Allen Mitchell.
