Weldon married Diane Wilson. They had two sons, Bradley Weldon Brevard and Brent Wilson Brevard. Weldon loved his family, his friends, Barnett Farm, and Ballinger, Texas. He loved young people of all ages and dedicated his life to working with them through teaching, coaching, and being an administrator in the public schools in Port Neches Groves, Ballinger, Boswell, Colorado City, and finally back to Ballinger. Weldon loved hunting, fishing and spending time on the Valley Creek at Barnett Farm. Another love was Colorado, where his family spent many vacations. Weldon and his family were introduced to the high country of Colorado by great friends the Grindstaffs and Bell families. There they explored the mountains in one of his three trademark red jeeps. One of those red jeeps is still exploring the mountains with granddaughter Paige. Texas Tech football became another love of Weldon’s when longtime friend Spike Dykes became the Red Raider coach. Through the years, the Brevards became a part of the Texas Tech entourage, traveling to Lubbock for most home games and even to other states.
