Price Wilson Avent, 58, entered his heavenly home Sunday, April 19, 2009.
Price was born July 15, 1950, in Memphis, Texas, to Robert and Betty Avent. He was raised in Amarillo, was a Tascosa graduate class of 1969 and went on to earn his B.S. in psychology from WTSU.
He worked as a deputy sheriff in Potter County then went into commercial real estate and development.
He married Leesa Lay in 1984, living in Amarillo, until their move to the Dallas area in 1995. Once there, Price began work in residential real estate where he finished building the masterpieces of his career with Tatum-Brown Custom Homes in Highland Park.
Price and Leesa were members of Fellowship Church in Grapevine and also attended Kingston United Methodist Church in Kingston, Okla. Price kept his personal relationship with his Savior close to his heart and his faith was evident to all who knew him.
Price was a proud member of the Shriners of America, Moslah temple in Fort Worth and Khiva in Amarillo where he enjoyed giving his time as a clown for Shriners Hospitals for Children. He was a Harley aficionado, master builder, artist, chili cook-off expert, son, brother, friend to all, and especially, loving husband and family man.
Price was preceded in death by his father, Robert Avent.
Survivors: Wife, Leesa Avent; mother, Betty Avent; sister, Lucy Avent Tigner and husband, Rich; niece, Amber Martin, her husband, Steve, and son, Kody; mother-in-law, Betty Lay-Korenek and husband, Jim; in-laws, Richie, Kayla, Ricky and Lacy Lay, Joshua, Kimberly and Olivia Lay, Caleb, Audra, Molly, Kathryn, Thomas and Lillian Lay; Madison and Kennedy Riley whom, along with their mother Leslee Lay Riley, he lovingly helped raise as his own.
