He was a native of Pumpkin Center and a total boat captain and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife Katherine Neuschafer Meades of Maurepas; one son, Bryan Meades of Maurepas; two sisters, Doris Monteleone of Hammond and Mattie Meades of Kentwood; two brothers, John Meades of Walker and Jerry Meades of Galvez; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ada Avants Meades; two sisters, Madere and Betty Scott; and three brothers, Leon, Donald and Floyd Meades."
