Patricia "Patsy" Jane Norris, age 87, passed away March 1, 2020 at T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born February 10, 1933 to Omer and Leta (Aven) Lyday in Celeste.

Patricia was a busy woman during her life. She worked as a waitress and raised 9 children with her husband Billy. She married Billy J Norris September 11, 1954 in Durant, Oklahoma. She loved reading, sewing and gardening. She made her children’s clothes before you could purchase patterns for clothing and was so skilled that she did not need patterns. She was also a military spouse while her husband served in the military. As a military spouse, she served without being required to enlist.

She is survived by her children: Johnny Norris, Sue Robertson and husband Zeller, William Norris and wife Rhonda, Debbie Konczal and husband Scott, Chuck Norris and wife Tessa, Chris Norris, James Norris, Mary Voelker, and Kathy Mills. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers: Bobby Lyday and wife Evaughn, Richard Lyday and wife Beverly, Larry Lyday and wife Ruth, her brother-in-law Johnnie Lyon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy, son Billy Wayne Norris, brothers Gilford, Harold and Frances Lyday, and her sister Bethalyne Lyon.

Billy Jasper Norris of McDade, Texas formerly of Elgin, Texas passed away on July 3, 2013 at the age of 81.

He was born on August 26, 1931 in Greenville, Texas to parents Bill Cleve and Vena Norris.
After graduating high school in Greenville, Texas Billy served in the Army from February 1950 until November 1953 serving a tour of duty in the Korean theater. In November 1954 Billy enlisted in the Air Force and served for 18 years retiring in 1972 as a Master Sergeant. Billy served in many duty stations and was deployed in multiple countries including Germany, Vietnam, and Thailand. The last duty station was Bergstrom Air Force Base and Billy chose to make the central Texas area his home. During his time in the Air Force Billy was an expert in munitions and chemical/biological weaponry, and earned many accolades and commendations for his service.

Billy married Patricia Lyday on September 11, 1954. Together they built a family of 10 children. Billy will be fondly remembered for his service to his country, his love of westerns, the beautiful central Texas farmland, his skill as a carpenter and general handy-man, and for his unfailing devotion to his children and grandchildren who were the light of his life.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and one son Billy Wayne Norris.

Honoring Billy as pallbearers will be Steve Mills, Aaron Norris, Mitchell Smith, Kyle Voelker, Bubba Stevens, and Joe Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Mills, Jacob Mills, and O.Z. Robertson.
