Maitland Avant "Pat" Bloodworth, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 04, 2014, in a Jones County hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Bloodworth was born in Warrenton, was the daughter of the late James Wright Avant and Clara Prosser Avant and had lived in Jones County most of her life.
Upon completing her education, she was a homemaker, devoting her life to raising her family. Mrs. Bloodworth was a devoted member of the Joycliff Road congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, having been a member for over sixty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Elmer "Bill" Bloodworth.
Mrs. Bloodworth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Wayne and Charlotte Bloodworth; and by her daughter and son-in-law: Sue and Larry Amerson; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jean and Jack Veasey, Joann Pruitt, Lanette and Ray Bryant and Ellen and Louie Lashley; brother and sister-in-law: Marvin and Ruby Avant; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
