“George was removed from Maryland to Kentucky around 1816.
As a young man Isaac became a river captain plying his boat between Cincinnati and New Orleans. He was assisted by his brothers John, William, Isaac and Robert.
In New Orleans he became ill and was nursed by a French nurse. He quit boating and bought a store in Augusta, but was broken down in health and quit trading. He bought a farm near Foster.
George and Mary had eleven children”.
He was a member the Methodist Episcopal Church until its division after which he adhered to the Church South till his death.
