Misc. Notes
Evelyn grew up in Houston and graduated from San Jacinto High School, where she was named Queen of the May Fete. After high school, she pursued a modeling career, frequently working for Sakowitz.

In 1941, Evelyn married Louis Monroe Pearce, Jr. and was blessed with four wonderful children. Evelyn led an active lifestyle and was known as an avid golfer and tennis player. In the 1950s, Sports Illustrated selected her to be on the cover of their magazine, modeling golf apparel. Evelyn was also known for her passion for playing cards, especially Bridge, and she enjoyed the weekly games with her dear friends at the River Oaks Country Club.

Active in many organizations over the years, Evelyn served as a member of the River Oaks Garden Club, where she loved the camaraderie of the organization and particularly enjoyed volunteering at the annual Pink Elephant Sale. In her early married years, Evelyn helped to form a Sewing Club, with a group of friends, whose husbands were all serving in World War II.

Evelyn's personality and beautiful smile drew others to her. She brought a certain style and sophistication to all of her efforts and was a friend to many generations. She lived a productive life, with an extraordinary commitment to her family and friends, and will be remembered as a loving and loyal mother, wife, friend, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She found great joy in spending time with her family and is survived by Louis Monroe Pearce, Jr.; her sons, Louis Monroe Pearce III and Vanessa Rene Schillaci, Gary Michael Pearce, Stephen Riley Pearce and Wilhelmina Elizabeth "Beth" Robertson; and by her daughter, Anne Pearce French and Lloyd Robert "Robin" French III.
