Frank L. Saffarrans Jr., 90, of Arlington passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.

Frank was born in Dallas on Oct. 22, 1923. He graduated from high school in Dallas. In 1948 he received a degree from Texas A&M in electrical engineering. Frank married Doris Kendall on Nov. 28, 1946.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Frank worked for General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin for 45 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Sierra Club and Hood County Genealogy Society.

Frank had a passion for rappelling, jogging, canoeing, hiking, genealogy and farming.

Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Jane Johnston. Survivors: Daughters, Cynthia S. Ives and husband, Stephen, and Melissa S. LeMoine and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Morgan E. LeMoine and Maclain E. LeMoine; sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Jean Wilson.

Doris Kendall Saffarrans, 90, lifelong resident of Arlington, Texas, passed away April 20, 2015.

Doris was born November 26, 1924, to Clint and Alice Kendall of Arlington at the family home. She was one of two daughters. She graduated Arlington High School in 1943 and attended North Texas Agriculture College, now the University of Texas at Arlington, where she met her husband. She was united in marriage to Frank L. Saffarrans Jr. on November 28, 1946, at the home of her parents. They briefly resided in College Station while Frank completed his degree at A&M.

They also had two daughters. At the time of Frank's death, they were married over 65 years.

Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she happily ran the church nursery for over 15 years. She had a passion for sailing, canoeing, hiking, traveling, and later enjoyed ceramics, weaving, needle point, gardening and reading. She enjoyed vacationing at Ghost Ranch, taking courses on ancient Indian Artifacts. Her discoveries may be seen on display in the Abique Museum in New Mexico. She also enjoyed being a MiMi to her two much anticipated granddaughters.

Survivors: Her 93 year old sister Novella Kendall Lam, who shared her day of birth with her younger sibling; daughters Cynthia S. Ives and husband Stephen, Melissa S. LeMoine and husband Michael; granddaughters Morgan E. LeMoine and Maclain E. LeMoine
