Dora Vera Hood, 95, died Thursday, September 16, 1999, at the Daniel Healthcare Complex in Fulton, Itawamba Co. She was born August 11, 1904, to Jeff and Katherine Sherrill Randolph.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ for more than 62 years. She enjoyed needlework and growing flowers.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Hood and his wife, Mary, of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Olun Hood and his wife, Pat, of Mooreville; two daughters, Clara Hood Holloway of Beach Park, Ill., and Jesker Alene Hood Miles of Fulton; nine grandchildren, Edgar Hood, Thomas Hood, Tammie Bland, Gwen Dye, Wanda Walker, Gary Miles, Shelia Grohs, Patsy Oliver and Lydia Hood; 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellie H Hood, on June 12, 1975; a son, Ellie Junior Hood, on Jan. 25, 1993; two brothers, Elvin and Henry Randolph; and a sister, Ozella Samples.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
