Ruth Brown Smith, 81, died March 23, 2011, at Oak Tree Plantation in Amory.
Ms. Smith was born June 12, 1929, in Tremont to the late Audie E. Brown and Myrtle Ethel Benson Brown Cale. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Aberdeen and owner of the Sewing Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Houston Smith; brothers, Roy and Bennie Brown; and sister, Raye Palmer.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Houston of Brookhaven and Greg Smith of Aberdeen; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
