Vea Schafran died at the age of 87, at the Winter Haven Hospital in Florida. She resided in Lake Wales, Florida.
She was born and raised in the same town as the famed legend, Elvis Presley, Tupelo, Mississippi. She moved to Lakeland, Florida, then settling in Lake Wales, Florida, 11 years prior to her death. She worked with her husband, traveling around the Country to many Bowling Tounaments. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, shopping and listening to country music, even wrote some country songs.
Vea was preceded in death by her first husband, Verlon Beevil Funderbunk , a daughter, Charlene Funderburk, a brother, Pervey Hood, and two sisters, Ruby Dulaney and Velma Taylor.
She is survived by: Second husband Raymond Charles Schafran Sr., Two daughters, Patricia Cowart of Lake Wales, Florida, and Betty West of Lake Wales, Florida, and a son, Carl Funderburk of Lake Wales, Florida, also a brother, William Hood, of Frostproof, Florida, and three sisters, Jackie Goff of Lakeland, Florida, Laverne Stinson of Sebring, Florida, and Mauvelene Wilbanks of Frostproof, Florida. Also five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.
