Leroy Bond Black was a farmer in the areas of Bellefontaine, Eupholia, Emory, and Walthall, Mississippi.
In 1903 he moved to Texas, and on to Dawson, Colfax, New Mexico, a coal mining town SW of Raton, New Mexico, and employed as boss of the mule barn, as the mine used mules to pull the coal cars out of the mine.
After 1918 he lived apart from his wife. When she died in 1921, she is buried in Springer, east of Dawson about 10 miles and on Old Hi-way 85. At Dawson, Leory's brother, John, was also there.
