C M Carroll, 27, of Walthall, who was killed Sunday in a head-on collision of an automobile and motorcycle near Canton, was a brother of Otis Carroll, of the State Highway Department, who has been located at Houston for the past year.
Mr. Carroll, together with his nephew, Floyd Carroll, was riding the motorcycle enroute from Jackson and they were struck by an automobile driven by Miss Mathburn, of Jackson, it is said during a heavy rain.
Mr. Carroll, whose skull was fractured, lived only a short while after being taken to a hospital in Jackson. The younger Carroll suffered a broken leg and other serious injuries, but attending physicians thought he would recover.
