In September of 1996, a little after midnight, a small airplane was attempting to land at the Corsicana Airport which is only half a mile from the end of the runway. It stalled and crashed in the Myers front yard. Firetrucks and sheriff deputies were rushed to the site.

Well, Max and Kathaleen were hard of hearing (duh!) and were not aware of the crash until Max went to the front door of their mobile home in the morning to get the newspaper. To say the least they were very surprised!
