Mr. Gordon was born on July 20, 1934 in Warrenville, S.C., to the late Kendall K. Gordon and the late Edna H. Gordon of Hampton. He is preceded in death by daughter, Pamela D. Gordon, and longtime companion, Louise "Corky" Thurmond, both of Hampton.
Mr. Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a Mason and a Shriner. He was retired from Owens Illinois in Hapeville, and was an avid motorcycle rider.
Survivors include son, Bobby Ray Gordon, Jr., and Melissa Wheatley; daughter, Kennette Gordon Waldrop, all of Hampton; grandchildren, Bobby Gordon, III, of Gary, Ind., Jessica Gordon, Jennifer Gordon of Hampton, Kelley and Dory Buice of McDonough, Rheannon Ferguson of Hampton; great-grandchildren, Kindal Brisendine, Hailey Buice, Avery Buice, Lee Buice, Braydon Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Linda G. and Toney Betsill of McDonough; brother, Leonard L. Gordon; four nephews, Toney Betsill, Jr., Troy Betsill, Tyson Betsill, Toby Betsill; several cousins and friends.
