Misc. Notes
William B BRASHIER, born 27 Mar 1675 in St George Parish, Maryland, appears to be the first documented progenitor of the "Brashier" family.

Little is known about his life except that he was in Baltimore County, Maryland by 1699 as a taxable in the north side of Gunpowder Manor, which lay along the banks of the Gunpowder River.

All four of his children's births were registered at Old Spesutia Church in St George Parish. Evidently his wife Elizabeth, the mother of his children, was already dead when William died in 1708 at the age of 34.

On 6 Nov 1708 an administrative bond was posted by John Webster with Christopher Cox and Henry Writhesley.

The Estimated Inventory on 26 Nov 1708 by Richard Ruff and Jane Freeland, valued his estate at 1.2.0 pounds. William Brashier left four orphans, three of whom the court put in foster homes. The oldest son, William Jr., died in Maryland in 1727. The second son, John, was bound out to Mary Elizabeth Day. John moved to Orange Co., North Carolina, where his surname was spelled "Bradsher". The youngest son, Thomas, was bound out to John Webster. Thomas Brazier (that is how he spelled his surname), also moved to Orange County, North Carolina, where he wrote his will in 1770.
