John Emanuel Coryell, usually called Emanuel is found in 1730 living and operating the ferry located on the Delaware River at what is now Lambertville, New Jersey. The ferry was operated by the Coryell family until a bridge was built to replace it in 1818. General George Washington used this site to plan and execute his strategy that led to winning the Battle of Trenton.
