Francisco was a 12 year-old orphan after the Mexican-American War. when he was brought to the United States by Henry Burroughs Holliday. Henry raised the boy in Griffin, Georgia, along with his son, John Henry Holliday aka “Doc” Holliday. Francisco was an adopted brother to Doc and grew to admire Henry as a father figure.

Adopted brother of “Doc” Holliday, Francisco served as a private in Company B, 30th Georgia Infantry Regiment, during the Civil War.

Inscription:
Born in Mexico and orphaned during Mexican-American War, he was brought back to the states by veteran Henry Burroughs Holliday and raise by him and his wife Alice Jane McKey Holliday. He was the adopted brother of John Henry "Doc" Holliday.

He died of tuberculosis, which also cause the deaths of his adopted mother and brother "Doc" Holliday. His funeral was attended by his wife and children as well as "Doc" Holliday and his cousin Martha Holliday, reputed to be the lost love of Doc's, and the source for the character of Melanie Wilkes in Gone with The Wind, as she was also a cousin of author Margaret Mitchell.
