James Ray Mayhall, 68, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at his home. He was born June 16, 1936, in Itawamba County to the late Admiral Dewey Mayhall and Iris Nadine Paden Mayhall. He was a farmer and a retired bus driver for Fairview School in Itawamba County. He attended the Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Johnson and husband, John, of Golden; two sons, James Randall Mayhall, and Steven Q. Mayhall and wife, Teresa, all of Golden; a sister, Cathline Cockran of Belmont; three brothers, William Ray Mayhall and wife, Murlie, of Golden, Charles Mayhall and wife, Catherine, of Tremont, and Elves Mayhall and wife, Dorothy, of Dorsey; a stepbrother, Marvin Rogers of Tremont; four grandchildren, Alanda and John Dewight Johnson, Jennifer and husband, Tony, and Milan Oliver Mayhall; two great-grandchildren, Holley and Haily Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dorothy Mae Mayhall Cleveland.
Pallbearers will be Danny Chestnut, Bobby Cleveland, Roy Cleveland, Paul Porter, Terry Johnson and Leamon Lindsey.
