Misc. Notes
Robert Wylie Reed,III, passed away September 2, 2014. He was born on November 5, 1954, to Bob and Betty Reed of Tupelo, Ms.

He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1972 and attended Vanderbilt University as well as The University of Mississippi.

He was employed at Reed's Department Store. He joined Reed Manufacturing Company as an account executive and was on their Board of Directors. He was a member of the Board of Directors at Community Federal Savings and Loan. In addition, he served as a member of the Regional Board of Merchants and Farmers Bank.

He was very active in community affairs, serving as Chairman of the Board of The Gum Tree Museum of Art. For many years he played an active role in the Tupelo Gum Tree Festival. Robert worked with United Way and the Salvation Army, and he helped to found the Autism Center of North Mississippi. He worked with the Tupelo Film Festival as well. All of these causes, as well as travel, music, and being outdoors, were dear to Robert's heart but, in reality, it was developing relationships with people that Robert loved most. His quick wit and humor will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his sisters, Alice Reed Quimby and Hoyt Reed Barnes; his nephews Robert Quimby (Ashley), Roy Barnes, Bob Barnes, Charlie Barnes (Diana) and Reed Barnes and also Lauren Oaks Lawhorn.

Pallbearers will be Scott Reed, Crofton Sloan, Jack Reed, Jr., Buzzy Mize, Ed Nelson, Pete Strickland, Butch Cockrell, and Raymond Doherty.
