Henry Walter ""Buddy"" Butler, 75, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at his home in the New Hope community. He was born February 9, 1939, in Itawamba County to Walter Garvin and Nancy Irene Beam Butler.
Before retiring, he worked in furniture manufacturing as a builder, designer and supervisor. He was a member of New Burton Baptist Church where he had served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and song director. He was U.S. Army veteran. He was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He is survived his wife of 51 years, Virlen Whilhelmenia Horn Butler, and a son, Chris E. Butler, both of Booneville; two brothers, W. Dexter Butler (Linda) of Amory and Alvie Butler (Lanelle) of the Eggville Community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lila Mae Hathcock; four bothers, Edgar Butler, William Butler, W.G. Butler and Elbert Butler.
Pallbearers are his nephews, Matt Butler, Steve Butler, Billy Butler, Brian Butler, Brad Butler and Keith Hathcock.
