Josiah was born in Caroline Co. MD. Moved to Guilford, NC, with a group of Nicolites, where he married Nancy. After their marriage, they moved to Kentucky on the Cumberland River, then to Rutherford Co., TN, where they are in the 1820 Rutherford Co. Census. Next moved to Itawamba Co, Mississippi.
