"Nicholas Mace Senior, was probably born around 1640 shortly after Rowland arrived in Maryland and moved to the eastern shore in Dorchester county around 1660. This Nicholas Mace bought two pieces of property in the 1660's known as Fishing Creek and Cedar Point to set up a small tobacco estate.Nicholas eventually sold out his stake in Fishing Creek to Taylor in 1680.We know that Nico9las' wife was Mary and that he had at least two sons, Nicholas and Josias. He may have also had a son named Edmund, a daughter married to a Brannock, and a daughter Hannah, married to William Wroughton. Nicholas Jr., and Josias are th founders of the two lines of the Mace clan in Dorchester in the 18th century. “
