Samuel Patillo resided in McKeever's Mulberry Fork District between 1803 and 1805 in Jackson County, Georgia.

In 1805, he drew land in Jackson County and in 1821 in Lee County, Georgia, in the Land Lotteries. The 1820 Census enumerates him in Morgan County, Georgia while the 1830 Census has him in Walton County, Georgia.

Samuel purchased land from Julian and Joe Bailey on March 9, 1830 to build a house of worship for the Methodist Episcopal Church and land in Covington for himself. He is listed in the 1832 - 1833 Gold and Land Lottery. In the 1840 Census, he is in Newton County, Georgia where he lived until his death. He died on 4 Jun 1841 in Covington, Newton County, Georgia.

He was buried on 5 Jun 1841 in West View Cemetery, Covington, Newton County, Georgia. He was a Methodist Minister 1820 to 1841.
