At the residence of her son, Thomas Froman, Wednesday morning, September 5th, 1886, Elizabeth Froman, widow of Thomas Froman, Senor, died at the advanced age of 84 years.

Mrs. Froman was born in the state of Ohio, in the month of April, 1802, and consequently was past 84 years old.  Her early youth was spent in the state of Indiana.  She was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Rand.  She was the daughter of a revolutionary soldier, her father, Thomas Ran, having served throughout the entire war of the revolution.

When she was nine years of age her parents removed to the then new country of Indiana, and settled in Dearborn county, where on the 14th of August, 1823, she was united in marriage to Thomas Froman, to whom she was a faithful and devoted wife for over fifty-six years, his death having preceded hers by a little more than six years, occurring on the 4th of January, 1880.

She leaves three sons, five daughters, forty-five grandchildren to mourn the loss of an affectionate mother and beloved grandmother.  She was a firm believer in the Christian religion and died in the full faith of her Redeemer.
