George Brasfield, son of David Brasfield, was born May 18, 1765, in what later became Wake County, N.C.  He made his will in Wake County, November 20, 1822.  Among the early grants of George Brasfield in Wake County are the following: 

Grant. #799; 288 acres on Waters of Neuse River adjoining lines of Thomas Burnett and Joseph Brasfield.  November 16, 1801.  Joseph and Jesse Brasfield, chain bearers.  One corner or property was at junction of Beaver Dam Creek. 3 Grant #800; 416 acres on waters of Neuse River on both sides, adjoining land of Peleg Rogers, Sr. At junction of Great Lick Creek and Motry Branch.  February 20, 1802.  J. Humphries, Surveyor; Joseph Brasfield, Jesse Brasfield, chain bearers. 3 Pumphret Edwards, a private in the N.C. Continental Line, Revolutionary War, was issued land in Tennessee, February 21, 1821, on Warrant #660.  Same was transferred to George Brasfield, Esq., June 18, 1821, with David Clements as witness.  George Brasfield transferred it to Joseph Lynn October 19, 1821, with Willie Brasfield as witness.  (Tenn. Gen. Records, Vol. 5, pp 18-22)  Betsey Steel, of Hickman County, TN, appointed her friend, George Brasfield, of Wake County, attorney in fact to collect what was due her in the State of N.C., October 17, 1821.  (Wake County Deed Book 5, p 14)  George Brasfield is shown as surveyor on a number of records in the N.C. State Land Office, bearing dates around 1820-21.  He made many purchases of State lands, and military land warrants.  Alfred Brasfield, Leonard Brasfield,  John C. Brasfield, and wife Nancy, of Greene County, AL., sold to Asa Brasfield, formerly of Greene County, AL, and now of McNairy County, TN., their rights in lands left them by death of their father George Brasfield, deceased.  The Last Will and Testament of George Brasfield of Wake County, N.C., detailed what he had left to his surviving children and family.
