Q.T. Maxey, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 5, 2004. Q.T. was born in Union County and lived most of her life in New Albany. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Elton Lee Maxey, and her brothers, Dalton and Haynon Morris, and her sister, Cuple Perkins.

She is survived by her children, Jean and her husband, John King, and Micheal and his wife, Teresa Maxey; her grandchildren, Trae Smith and his wife, Jill, Cynthia Smith, Brad Maxey and Shelly Maxey; her great-grandchildren, Britany, Brooke, and Dylan Smith, and Katie and Shelby Maxey; and numerous other loving relatives.

Q.T. dedicated her life to her family, her friends and her church, Glenfield Baptist. She knew no strangers. She was known as Mrs. Maxey, Mrs. Q.T., Grandma and the ever popular "bread lady." She will be missed by so many, and her spirit will always survive through the many lives she has touched.
