Willie Mildred Hathcock Vines, 92, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at the Sanctuary House in Tupelo.
She was born April 30, 1915, in Smithville to Arthur Hathcock and Lessie Powell. She attended Smithville schools and graduated from Smithville High School.
She worked as a nurse for the Aberdeen Hospital, the Care Center of Aberdeen and the Medical Arts Clinic for many years. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Lora Chester and husband, Ray, of Hernando; one son, Rev. Wayne Vines and wife, Geneva, of Aberdeen; one sister, Flora Hathcock of Amory; two brothers, Floyd Powell and wife, Marie, of Smithville, and Dewey Hathcock and wife, Panzy, of Berry, Ala.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Vines; two daughters, two sisters and three brothers. Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
