A prominent Itawambian and retired farmer of the Bounds Cross Roads community, he was 69 years old. Burial was in the Bounds Cemetery. He was a lifelong resident of Itawamba County. He died March 14, 1953 at his home after an illness of two months.
He leaves five sons, Rex, Clarence and Murry of Cullman, Ala., Charles of Red Bay, Ala., and Lewis of Fulton; two daughters, Mrs. C. N. Russell of Cullman and Mrs. C. R. Weeks of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. J. Q. Chamblee of Fulton, Mrs. Henry Harris of Nauvoo, Ala., Mrs. Dianna Stanfield and Mrs. Marion Mason, both of Red Bay.
