Mrs. Howell was born July 3, 1916, in Monroe County to the late William Harrison and Docia Lula Ausborn Brasfield.
A longtime member of the Church of Christ at Christian Chapel, she was a member of the Lady Bugs and Domino Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe McKinney Howell; brothers, Aden, Granville, and James Brasfield and sister, Erlene Brasfield Boatwright. She is survived by her sons, Larry Wayne Howell, of Amory and Joe David Howell, of Louisville, Tenn.; daughter, Shelby Jean Williams, of Camdenton, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Sam Carpenter, Tommie Smith, David Gray, Alan Pearson, Vaughn Dale Howell, Russell Smith, Dr. Dennis Smith, Sam Howell and Charles Burns.
