Hazel was the daughter of Willie and Ella Beatrice (Sperry) Gibson.

She graduated from Limestone Gap in 1950. Virginia retired after working 35 years for Blue Bell in Coalgate, sewing Wrangler Blue Jeans.

She married Byron Dale Smith on May 20, 1950 in Atoka, OK.

Virginia was a longtime member of Stringtown First Baptist Church. She loved sewing, singing in the choir, working in her flower garden, raising cattle and spending time with her grandchildren. Virginia enjoyed her association with Stringtown Seniors and served as their treasurer for 15 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Diannia Kay (Smith) Lewis; son in law, Danny Hamilton; brother, George Kenneth Gibson; and special friend, Richard Johnston.

Bryan Dale smith, 45, of Wardville died Wednesday, September 15, 1976, in a McAlester hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Hamilton of Pittsburg and Mrs. Diana Kay Lewis of Wardville; a son, Don W. smith of Wardville; his father, Elvin Smith of Kiowa; three sisters, Imogene Thompson of Stringtown, Jacqueline McEntire of Limestone Gap and Georgia Lawrence of Coalgate, and two grandchildren.
