Curguest W. Sanders, 93, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center after a long illness. He was born Oct. 15, 1913, in Monroe County to the late U.L. and Perla Savage Sanders. He lived in the Lackey community and in the Becker community since 1942.

He was employed by Amory Garment Company and by the Chevrolet dealership in Amory. He was a member of Greenbrier United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Club. He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Olga Buchanan Sanders of Becker, whom he married on Jan. 20, 1940; two sons, C. Harold Sanders (Betty Ruth) of Amory and C. Dail Sanders (Linda) of Columbus; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stanley E. Sanders; four brothers, Greely, H.T., J.V. and L. Sarge Sanders; and two sisters, Margret Thompson and Katherine Young.

Pallbearers will be Chris Sanders, Brian Sanders, Eddie Sanders, Eric Sanders, Terry Nordquist and Clayton Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Greenbrier United Methodist Church.

Olga Reed "Reedy" Buchanan Sanders, 89, died on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. Born on March 8, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Clyde and Adee Smith Buchanan. She attended Aberdeen Schools.

In 1984, she retired as a seamstress with Amory Garment after 34-plus years of service. She was a member of Greenbrier United Methodist Church. A loving and caring mother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies were flower gardening, cross stitching, quilting, playing card games with family, traveling, visiting on the phone with friends, word search books, watching the Atlanta Braves. She enjoyed gospel music, especially The Gaithers, and watching gospel Channel 15.

She is survived by her sons, Harold Sanders (Betty Ruth) of Amory and Dail Sanders (Linda) of Columbus; grandchildren, Eddie, Chris and Brian Sanders; Deborah Mullins, Mitzi Smith, Lynn Nordquist and Angela Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Betty Webster, Lois Varnell, Wynona Dowdle and Sybil Wilson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Sanders; son, Stanley Sanders; sisters, Odie Gosa, Opal Brown and Carolyn Raper; brothers, Clyde, Claude, Cully and Charles Buchanan.

Pallbearers will be Art Buchanan, Charlie Oldham, Brad Tate, Robert Buchanan, Eric Sanders and Clayton Thompson.
