Thomas William King, 80, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at NMMC – Gilmore in Amory. 

 Thomas was born in Amory on February 13, 1942 to the late Virgil Homer King and Pauline Allred King.  Thomas attended Hatley School and served for nearly 25 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard.  

He married Becky Hill on November 17, 1978.  Thomas worked as a welder at Palmer Bodies and a brick mason.  He also heled Becky with their well tile and concrete business on Smithville Road.  In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  For several years on every Friday, Thomas would hook to the camper and the entire family would camp for the weekend.  In his later years, he enjoyed getting out and about riding the backroads. He loved his dogs, especially his chihuahua, TC.  More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

 
Thomas is survived by his wife Becky Hill King of Smithville; daughters, Lisa Wright, Smithville, Gail Costner (Carl), FL, Debbie King, Vernon and Amanda Word of Smithville; son, Thomas E. King, Smithville; brother, Bobby King (Patsy), Amory; sister, Julia Willis (Mitch), Amory; special daughter in law, Cherry King of Ohio; grandchildren, Daniel Cantrell, Brandon King, DeAnna Williams (Paul), Dakota King, Shawn King, Zachary Word, Clark Word and Adiane Word; great grandchildren, Grayson, Colbie Collins, Vincent, Ava, Rayna, Alexis, Leah, Abby, Jordan, Ariel and Raylynn; a host of nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Ray King.
