Enlisted as a 4th Corporal in Company I, 4th Florida Infantry on 25 Sep 1861, at Fort Mallory, St Vincent Island, Florida. He was appointed 4th Sergeant in May or Jun 1862 and to 2nd Sergeant on 14 Apr 1863. Died of disease at Greenwood, Florida, on 15 May 1864.
