Mrs. Powell was born January 28, 1930 in Fieldale, VA, to the late John and Beulah Ketner Perry. She was retired from Karastan Rug Mill.

Surviving are her three sons, Richard Powell and wife, Kaye, John Powell, and Kim Ray Powell and wife, Kimberly, all of Eden; grandchildren, Megan Behe and husband, Matt of Smithfield, Whitney Powell, Chris Powell, Landon Powell, and Janna Powell of Eden; great-grandchild, Landis "Cole" Behe of Smithfield; brothers, John Perry of Fieldale, VA and Jimmy Perry of Danville, VA; sisters, Margie Clarke of Richmond, VA and Ann Wilson of Columbia, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Landis "Dickie" Powell.
