Lydia Mae Bryant Perry, 83, of Fieldale, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at her home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Fieldale on May 27, 1919, a daughter of the late Emmett R. and Emma Selma Bryant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Bryant Joyce; and a brother, Ermond R. Bryant.
Perry was a graduate of Fieldale High School and was retired after many years as a data processor at Fieldcrest Mills. She was a lifelong member of Fieldale Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years, a member of the W.M.U., performed in the hand bell choir and was in the Business Women's Circle.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, John K. Perry of the home; one daughter, Sharon P. Wigington of Collinsville; and one sister, Lorene B. Pickup of Fieldale.

John Ketner Perry, 99, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017. He was born on June 2, 1917 to the late John Ellis Perry and Beulah Bernice Ketner Perry.
Mr. Perry was a water purification manager with Fieldcrest Mills. He was a member of Fieldale Baptist Church where he served as a Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Sunday school superintendent and various other church committees.
He was a founding member of Fieldale Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed playing golf for 57 years. He also loved to dance. He served in the United States Army 567th Anti- Aircraft Battalion during World War II.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Wigington; sisters, Marjorie Perry Clarke of Richmond, Va., and Ann Perry Wilson of Columbia, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also predeceased by his wife, Lydia Mae Bryant Perry; sister, "Dot" Perry Powell; brothers, James Ellis Perry, and Oscar Perry; and son- in-law Robert E. Wigington.
