Bea attended Spring Hill School, and continued her education at Wood Jr. College. After graduating from Wood Jr. College, she taught school for many years, and served as the local school PTA president.

She was a devoted member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, and taught Sunday school for many years. On December 25, 1947, she married the love of her life, John R. Woods, and they spent 62 wonderful years together until his passing in 2009. Bea was a loving, devoted wife and mother. Her "happy place" was digging in her flower gardens and sharing her flowers with family and friends.

Bea was blessed with a long life here on earth. The Lord has now called her home, and she has been reunited with her loved ones that have gone on before her, but her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts and minds of her family.
