Misc. Notes
Captain Robert Bean was the son of Lieutenant John Bean and Elizabeth (Henderson) Bean.

Around 1781, Captain Bean married Martha Womack (1758-1840), daughter of Jacob Womack. Their sons, Lemuel, Obediah, William, and Robert, changed the spelling of their name to Beene. Gradually, most of the family line adopted the same spelling, though to this day, some do not.

Children of Robert and Martha Bean are:

Lemuel Beene (1782-1849); Rhoda Bean (1783-1847); Obadiah Franklin Beene (1785-1840); John Bean (1788-1846); Elizabeth Bean, born 1789, married John Patton (1785-1854); William Beene, (1791-1839) born Franklin County, Georgia; Robert Beene, (1794-1858) born Franklin County, Georgia; Oliver Bean (1796-?); born Franklin County, Georgia; Sarah "Sally" Bean (1798-1868) married Benjamin F. Selman; Jesse "Jep" Bean (1800-1880) born Franklin County, Georgia; Marth Bean, born 1803, in Franklin County, Georgia. married Levi Womack, son of William Womack.

In 1807, Robert received two land grants, on the Elk River, in Franklin County, Tennessee. He first moved his family there, and then settled and lived the rest of his life in Marion County, Tennessee.

On November 17, 1823, Robert deeded land to Jesse Bean, in Marion County. This was five days after the birth of Jesse's first son, and exactly one year before the death of Robert.

Robert is buried in the Bean-Raulston Cemetery in Marion County, Tennessee.
