James Roach was perhaps born in Virginia, and came to Orange County NC, by 1774 with his wife Ann and son Absolum.
James was of English Ancestry.
Ann's maiden name is still unproven,they had at least eight children.
It is "NOT" known when/where Ann Roach died, Ann had re-married in 1798 to Jno Redding
James Roach was an educated man and owned a small plantation of 182 acres on the Haw River, He may have grown Tobacco,near the area of Saxapahaw (now in Alamance CO) His land bordered the Thomas Thompson land, Thompson's had a Grist Mill on the river....James Roach's body may have been buried either in a family cemetery on his own land (that may no longer exist)or possibly even in the Thompson Cemetery as they were at the least neighbors & close friends if not relatives
