Oak Top" mansion on present-day Madison Terrace.
According to "Picturesque Clarksville, Past and Present," he was taken ill while holding the Circuit Court in Dover, came home and died a few days later. Stewart Circuit Court Minutes show that he was on the bench on July 10-12, 1865.
