BRINSLEY MORTIMER WISDOM, son of Abner Wisdom, was born in England and emigrated from there to America with two of his brothers, Pollard and Francis, about the year 1730.

He was a Baptist evangelistic minister and was noted for his oratorical ability. He married a woman of Scotch-Irish ancestry.
