A lifelong resident of Amory, Robert was born April 21, 1918, to the late Robert Eans Hill Jr. and Minnie Walls Hill.
He was a graduate of Amory High School Class of 1936. He was a charter member of North Boulevard Christian Church in Amory, where he was a deacon, an elder, a Sunday school teacher, church secretary/treasurer, and a member of the choir.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was part-owner of Oak Park Service Station, and he owned and operated City Auto Parts in Amory from 1954-1976. He enjoyed gardening. He married Ruby Green Schumpert on Dec. 24, 1940; she preceded him in death in 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Kinney Hill and wife, Meredith, of Poquoson, Va., and Ricky Hill and wife, Carla, of Saltillo; two sisters, Kathleen Palmer and Sue Howell of Amory; five grandchildren, Rob Hill, Jon Hill, Austin Hill, Andrew Hill and Grantham Hill; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hill and Jordan Hill.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hill, Dickie Hill, Bobby Howell, Henry Grady Wright, Randy Wright, and J.T. Thornton.
