John Nelson Maxey, 82, was found dead April 21, 1972 in the Hatley Community in Monroe County. He was born in Itawamba County and married Miss Luna Ford in 1908 and she died Feb. 4, 1972. The had lived in Monroe County since 1928. He was a member of New Hope Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, Charlie Maxey of Zion, Ill., Rubel, Thomas and Arthur Maxey, all of Amory; one daughter, Mrs. Faye Fears of Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Evie Lunsford of Mo. and Mrs. P.G. Brumley of Hodges, Ala.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
