Full of life, Tommy graduated from Hatley High School, Class of 1964.
He Married Carolyn McCommon on April 1, 1966.
After more than 30 years of Service to his Country, Tommy Retired from the U.S. Army National Guard.
Having worked several years in the Shipping Department at True Temper Sports, he Retired in April 2010.
While at True Temper, Tommy had served as President of True Temper Steelworkers Association.
A Member of First United Methodist Church, he served on the Administrative Board.
Always smiling and laughing, he enjoyed fellowship with his friends, whether it be drinking coffee, eating, or reminiscing about the past.
He had a passion for Children, especially St. Jude, and for cars and trucks.
He enjoyed stock car racing, golf and antique sales.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Coile and Rev. Don McCain officiating.
Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.
He is survived by his Mother, Claudine Maxey of Hatley; a Sister, Brenda Adair and Husband, Doug, of Plantersville; Sister In Law, Sweetie Hill and Husband, Bob, of Becker; a Caregiver who was like a Sister, Judi Horne of Amory; Nieces and Nephew, Angela Fowler and Husband, Heath, of Auburn, AL; Karen Barrett and Husband, Wes), of New Hope; John Hill and Wife, Tracy, of Hernando; Great Nieces and Nephews, John Wesley, Rachel, Luke, Adam and Lauren Barrett; and Jacob and Christian Hill; and numerous Cousins and Friends.
In addition to his Father, he was preceded in death by his Wife of 44 years, Carolyn Maxey, to whom he was very devoted.
Pallbearers will be John Hill, Wes Barrett, John Maxey, Eric White, Jimmy Morgan, Larry Tartt, James Tate and Pete Patterson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Wayne Harlow, Lynn Todd, John Wesley Barrett, Luke Barrett, Adam Barrett, Jacob Hill, Christian Hill, Eli White, Earl Bunch, Doug Dean, Dennis Coleman, Johnny Coleman and Sonny Capps.

Carolyn McCommon Maxey, 68, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Amory.
Born April 13, 1942, in Amory, she was the daughter of the late Matt and Rivers Christian McCommon. A 1960 graduate of Amory High School, she attended Itawamba Junior College and Mississippi University for Women.
She married Tommy Maxey in 1966. Before her retirement, she worked for the Amory Advertiser and Midsouth Fine Printers. She enjoyed golf and especially enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews play ball. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Maxey of Amory; her mother-in-law, Claudine Maxey of Hatley; one sister, Sweetie Hill (Bob) of Amory; sister-in-law, Brenda Adair (Doug) of Plantersville; nieces, Karen Barrett (Wesley) of New Hope and Angela Fowler (Heath) of Auburn, Ala.; nephew, John Hill (Tracy) of Hernando; five grandnephews; and two grandnieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her father-in-law, Tom Maxey.
