Charles was born September 2, 1934 in Walker County, Alabama to Buck Manville and Ora Matilda Brasfield.
He was a devoted husband to Muriel (affectionately known as Barbara) Brasfield for 62 years. Charles proudly served in the United States Navy for 27 years. He retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer E8. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a hero to his children and grandchildren.
Charles loved his wife, his children, his country and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He saw the world while serving his country and entertained his grandchildren with many stories of his escapades. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Charles is survived by his wife Muriel Brasfield; his children David (Phyllis) Brasfield, Darryl (Ruth) Brasfield, Ann Marie (Tim) Villalva, and Nancy (Stan) Tanner; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son Johnny Brasfield.
