J. P. Brasfield was a retired correctional officer at the state penitentiary, member of the Penticostal Holiness Church, Senior Citizens and Peace Officers Association.
Born Jan. 27, 1905 at Smithville, Miss., he and Etta Mae Williams were married Sept. 21, 1926. He lived in Pittsburg Cunty some 60 years.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Etta Mae, of the home, include two sons, Troy Lee Brasfield of Arpelar and Dale Brasfield of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Owida Meek, Odessa, Tex. and LaVon Seymour of Oklahoma City; a sister, Clara Upton of Tishomingo; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie and Randy Scott, Blake Meek, Troy Brasfield and Dave Richards.
