Born April 17, 1884 in Hunt County, she was the daughter of Jerome and Nannie McWilliams Slater. In 1901 she was wed to Lester Aven who died in 1941. She was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. Burial will be in Celeste Cemetery.
Survivors are four sons, A. C. Aven, Commerce; A. Z. Aven, Tyler; J. B. Aven, Arp, and R. E. Aven, Orange, and four daughters, Mrs Noema Little, Mrs Edith Thomason and Mrs Hazel Butler, all of Greenville, and Mrs Gladys Angell, Dallas; twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
